Marcia Lusted

Marcia is a certified professional ergonomist and physiotherapist. Since starting in her own consulting business, Ergonomics Australia, in 1995 Marcia has worked in a wide range of industries including manufacturing, airline, rail, retail, office, health, and aged care. She has also been an associate lecturer at university and a researcher into musculoskeletal injury.
Her areas of expertise include:
- Advising on the implementation of manual handling programs.
- Ergonomics assessment of cabins, access systems and operation of earth moving vehicles.
- Evaluation and advising on design of hospital beds.
- Research on patient handling devices.
- Consulting on selection and design of office workstations, customer service counters, office seating and furniture.
- Development of manual handling training packages and patient handling training packages, and
- OHS auditing for manufacturing, mining and government organisations.

Marcia is an active member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of Australia Inc, currently serving as NSW Branch Treasurer. From November 2010 she will take up the role of General Secretary for the Society.
